PRESS RELEASE

Morey Evans Designs New Site, TV Campaign For Vehix.com

Morey Evans Advertising, Denver, breaks three TV commercials on Monday for automotive online buying service, Vehix.com, with $60 million in cable media. The spots announce a major overhaul of the site's interface and functionality, and demonstrate key new interface technologies that are being unveiled to the automotive industry during the National Automotive Dealer Association trade show in New Orleans January 29-Feb 1, 2005.

"This new site design is a leap forward in the category," explains agency President, Glenn Morey. "There are a lot of people using the internet to research and buy cars and trucks, and the manufacturer sites have done a great job in terms of user interface compared to the online buying services. We worked with Vehix to redesign the user experience to be more competitive with Ford, Toyota, Chevy and other branded manufacturer sites, utilizing flash programming."

According to Morey, people understand the value of independent online buying services in terms of their comprehensiveness and objectivity, but sometimes gravitate to the slicker interface of the OEM sites.

Agency Creative Director, Tom Evans, leaned heavily on simple demonstration to make the spots work. "This assignment," says Evans, "was as much about stylishly packaging the actual site advantages as anything. The stories are simply there to make the viewer understand the coolness and utility of what the site does."

Each commercial takes place on the same set. In one, a man is ordering two other men to rotate a truck on a turntable so he can see it from all sides, something the new vehix.com site does in the cyber world with 360 degree views. In another, the site's ability to demonstrate its full-view car color technology is compared to a woman who has a car painted blue in front of her, then asks to see it "in red, again." The final spot features a giant conveyor belt that delivers used cars to a man who is relaxing in a recliner as he reviews them.

The advertising will run entirely on cable systems in 54 markets throughout the U.S. including 19 of the top 25 markets. Vehix, based in Salt Lake City, partners with cable companies to drive leads to automotive retailers who buy cable advertising schedules.
